Tayler Onion is a retired student-athlete and self-proclaimed member of the “I used to get some hang time!” club. While her vertical isn’t what it once was, Onion jumped into a new chapter earlier this year, rebranding her former podcast, The Bloom Pod, to 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚 to focus on women’s sports—past, present, and future.
As a storytelling and media platform, 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚 focuses on amplifying the stories of women in sports—from athletes and executives to pioneers and rising leaders. The podcast serves as the foundation for our platform, bringing untold stories to life and sparking conversations that matter.

Upshot League and the Future of Women’s Basketball with Jacksonville Waves Head Coach Jess Bogia
In this episode, Tayler is joined by the newly named Head Coach of the Jacksonville Waves, Jess Bogia. The Waves are one of four founding members of Upshot League, a new professional women’s basketball league focused on providing more opportunities for women’s professional basketball players to play and get paid in the states. Jess talks about her journey in basketball and how the job with the Waves was an opportunity she couldn’t turn down. She and Tayler talk about the exponential growth happening for women’s professional basketball right now, and Jess shares her perspectives on how Upshot League complements other professional leagues like the WNBA and Unrivaled. The two also discuss the recruiting process for the Waves, the 2026 season timeline, and how people can support the new league and teams.
A Look at Women’s Professional Football with Jada Humphrey and Jennifer Tussey of the St. Louis Slam
In this episode, Tayler is joined by Jada Humphrey and Jennifer Tussey, members of the six-time Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) National Champions, the St. Louis Slam! Jada and Jennifer discuss the challenges of balancing a professional football career with their “regular” jobs. They also talk about the team’s experience leading up to the sixth National Championship, which they won in July 2025. The two shared what it was like to play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH, and how great it has been to have the support of the city of St. Louis behind them.
Going PRO: Leadership Development in Professional Sports with Dr. Kyra Kendrick
In this episode, Tayler is joined by Dr. Kyra Kendrick, the Vice President of Member and Partner Strategy at the PRO Sports Assembly. They discuss Dr. Kendrick's career path, her experiences in recruiting, and her transition to leadership roles in organizations focused on developing leaders in sports. Dr. Kendrick shared some background on the PRO Sports Assembly, and how it works to foster connections and learning and assist industry professionals in navigating challenges and innovations within professional sports. The two also talked about leadership dynamics, the impact of private equity in sports, and advice for aspiring professionals in the field.

In this episode, Tayler is joined by Denise Schilte-Brown, Head Coach of the Tampa Bay Sun FC. The Sun are one of the newest franchises in the USL-W, recently rebranded the Gainbridge Super League. Denise talked about her transition from college coaching to leading a new professional women's soccer team. She shared insights on what it’s been like to build a new franchise, establish team culture, and the importance of community support for women's sports. Tayler and Denise also discussed some of the challenges and rewards of coaching female athletes and emphasized the need for investment in women's sports to inspire future generations. Denise also offered advice for aspiring female leaders in sports, encouraging them to embrace their unique perspectives and take the lead.
From College to Pros: Working in Sports with Katy Benson of St. Louis CITY SC
In this episode, Tayler is joined by Katy Benson, a veteran professional working in sports. Leadership and Equity in Sport with Dr. Janelle Wells
In this episode, Tayler is joined by Dr. Janelle Wells, an Associate Professor in the Vinik Sport & Entertainment Management program at the University of South Florida and a co-founder of WellsQuest. The two discussed Dr. Wells’ research in gender equity and leadership in sports, as well as how she made the move from coaching college volleyball to pursuing her PhD and teaching. Dr. Wells also shared how WellsQuest came to be and how the work she’s doing in that vein is helping to create better workforces.
How Inclusion & Shared Values Shape the PGA of America with Chief People Officer Sandy Cross
In this episode, Tayler is joined by Sandy Cross, the Chief People Officer at the PGA of America. Sandy is a former college volleyball student-athlete, who has spent more than 20 years working her way up in the PGA of America. Sandy shared how she went from a 90-day role with the organization to becoming the Chief People Officer. Two two also discuss the importance of shared values, mission-driven work, and why inclusivity is so important in sport organizations.
RERELEASE: Managing the College Football Playoff with Holly Stalcup
Holly Stalcup currently serves as the Senior Director of Stadium and Game Operations at the College Football Playoff, a promotion she earned since this episode originally aired in December of 2021. Holly joined the CFP staff in April of 2019 after having served as the Associate Athletics Director for Event Management at the University of Illinois.
Holly has been named to Central Illinois Business' Forty Under 40 during her time at Illinois, and she served on the National Board of Directors of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) from 2016-2020.
In this rereleased episode, Holly talked about her experience transitioning from working on a college campus to working for the CFP, her experience as a woman working in a male-dominated, and her love of love of broadway shows.
A Conversation on Boundaries and Backbones with Dr. Jen Fry
In this episode, Tayler is joined by Dr. Jen Fry, a Sports Geographer, tech founder, TEDx speaker, and the founder/owner of JenFryTalks and Coordle. Most recently, Dr. Fry authored the book, I Said No: How to Have Boundaries and a Backbone Without Being a Jerk. Tayler and Dr. Fry take a deep dive into why she wrote the book, how she came up with the title, and why boundaries are so hard to set. The two also discuss Dr. Fry’s work in conflict and why it’s so important right now.

In this episode, Tayler is joined by Camber Clemence. Clemence helped pen essays for the recently released book, Play It Forward: How Women Changed Sports to Change the World. The book comes from the sports the sports media company TOGETHXR, which was co-founded by Alex Morgan, Sue Bird, Chloe Kim, Simone Manuel, and Jessica Robertson, with the mission of elevating women in sports and culture through a media and commerce platform.

Austin State University, and Smith college, she’s spent time as an assistant track and field coach, professor, and athlete development specialist. She also has her own coaching/consulting business, AceD Coaching.

Matt Brown is the creator of Extra Points, a newsletter that covers all the off-the-field stuff that shapes college sports, from the largest FBS schools to the smallest NAIA programs. Prior to going focusing on Extra Points full time in April 2020, Matt used to oversee SB Nation’s college team sites and regularly contributed to SBNation.com’s college football coverage.
